Stan Giaouris is a licensed builder, building practitioner, waterproofer, and building certifier with over two and a half decades of hands-on construction and defect assessment experience. As the founder of The Construction Adviser (TCA), Stan leads a team that provides independent expert advice, defect analysis, waterproofing design, and litigation support across NSW and beyond.

Stan is the current Chair of the Master Builders NSW Waterproofing Technical Committee, where he plays a leading role in rewriting the national waterproofing technical guides. He is also a committee member for Standards Australia BD-038, directly contributing to the drafting of the new AS 654 waterproofing standards. His expertise is regularly called upon by strata managers, developers, builders, engineers, certifiers, and legal professionals.

He is a lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and delivers regular CPD training through Master Builders, Legalwise, and other industry bodies. Stan has built strong collaborative relationships with major waterproofing manufacturers and is known for his fair, clear, and technically rigorous approach to waterproofing and building defect resolution.
